Why choose Free-Force to remap my vehicle? Free-Force customise your ECU map to the highest possible standards using the knowledge and expertise of Viezu Technologies, whose research and development practices have been developed over the past 20 years and are some of the very best available in the world today.
We are a family run business and our priority is to see you drive away with a smile on your face. Your satisfaction is guaranteed or we will give you your money back. We are discreet when required and will come to you when convenient. Our technicians will be smart, in uniform and courteous, and there is no time limit if you require to ask questions. No question is too simple so please call us.
We give you the choice of the level of tuning that YOU want. Whether it is performance for a track day or just for better overtaking and towing, or better economy tuning, we have the ability to reach your exact requirements. If you can't decide and want the best of both worlds we also have an option that allows you to have multiple maps available for your car at the press of a button, with the V-Switch device. This is unique.
Can you offer me a remap at my own home or place of work?
Yes, we offer a mobile service mainly based in the north east and north west of the UK, however as a VIezu dealer we can pass on your requirement to over 200 agents worldwide.
Why does the manufacturer de-tune my vehicle at point of sale?
The manufacturer does so for many reasons, this is why we can offer such amazing improvements. They are constrained by government policies regarding emissions and also power output to fit into a particular insurance group. They also cater for sub standard fuels in some countries, as well as for those people who do not service their vehicle at regular intervals. Finally, the manufacturer can sell virtually the same vehicle with small enhancements of performance, as well as trim for example, to put it into a more 'sporty' group and so sell it at an elevated price. Please note that all tuning that Free Force offer is kept inside manufacturer tolerances and so you have piece of mind regarding increased performance but not to the extent that your vehicle is trying too hard.
Will remapping invalidate my cars warranty?
One of the most commonly asked queries for owners of vehicles under 3 years old. Our remapped files are not detectable. We send your original map file to Viezu Technologies for tuning and customising to what YOU want. It is reprogrammed and we write it back to your ECU. It is not just a cheap flash map. This method of tuning a vehicle is completely undetectable as Viezu do not encrypt the data that is changed as some companies will do. All codes and diagnostics that your particular dealer may read will remain exactly the same and any remap counters are set back to zero automatically. We say this with confidence because of the rigorous research and testing regime that all Viezu files go through and we therefore give a 24 month software (PRODUCT) warranty underwritten by the Royal Sun Alliance, so that you have piece of mind. If for any reason a manufacturer could prove that a fault had occurred because of a remapped file, the indemnity cover is £2M However, please be warned - not all tuning companies can offer this and cheaper alternatives may cause you to have expensive bills at a later date. They can also wipe expensive modifications which may have been purchased when the vehicle was new, such as cruise control for example, which may no longer work as the file is not 'customised'. Many companies claim insurance backing, however this is purely client indemnity cover and NOT a PRODUCT insurance. Can my vehicle be put back to its standard settings? Simply YES. If required we can do this and will only charge a very small admin fee to cover our call out, however we will be very surprised if you want to do this after feeling the difference in your vehicle's performance. Should you lose your tuning files due to dealer actions (for example an upgrade of software), as a Viezu dealer we will be happy to re-install the map onto your car free of charge for as long as you own the vehicle. Should I tell my insurance company? Whilst the upgrade is undetectable, the responsible answer to this question has to be "yes" your insurance company should be notified. However, many insurance companies do not penalise you for upgrades of this nature, particularly if you're tuning for increased economy.
Will my fuel consumption go up after an upgrade?
No, in fact quite the opposite. Even on a performance tune, if you continue to drive the car in the same way that you did before the upgrade, your fuel consumption should improve. Clearly if you have a track map installed on the car and you are driving under these intensive conditions, you are likely to find a reduced mpg figure. Basically it is very much down to driving style and we will offer free advice to you about this when we visit.
Economy tuning can have a dramatic effect on fuel consumption, as well as feeling an improvement in low down torque, giving considerable money savings on your fuel bills. Will the life span of my engine be reduced? No, not at all as we use Viezu tuners and files. Some engines can be over tuned, "stressing" the engine, transmission, cooling systems and so on, which can reduce the life span and reliability of your car. This is why it is extremely important that you research before you buy. If you contact us we will be happy to spend the time on the phone or via email and explain all the pitfalls without any obligation. We take great care to ensure that all of our modifications have no detrimental effect on your car. In a lot of cases the economy tune actually helps to extend the life of components such as the clutch and gearbox by making the delivery of the power far less aggressive and smoothing the overall drive of the vehicle.
My vehicle is not listed?
The tuning hardware systems that we use are continually being updated. If your vehicle is not on the list, please call us and we will advise you. Please note that remapping is achieved on site through the on board diagnostic port (OBD) Some older vehicles may not have this option but it may be possible to remove your ECU and send it to Viezu for 'chipping' the old fashioned way. This has a turnaround time of approxiamately 3 to 4 working days. Other vehicles, for example Nissan Nevara, Mitsubishi L200 and Shogun, Taxi tx2 and 4, Izuzu D Max are common applications for our V-box tuning solution. Please coantact us if you require information.
Can you add or remove other ECU functions such as speed limiters, delete dpf cycle and so on? Simply the answer is yes to many ECU particular functions such as these, for most vehicles. Again as this is a fully customised remap just ask before we start. Contact us beforehand if you are unsure
Are plug and play re-maps and files sold on auction sites any good? There are a number of basic power upgrades available as plug and play modules, or in a downloadable format from the internet. Whilst some of these devices can offer small increases in power, they operate only by adjusting a specified signal within your ECU by a set tolerance. It is impossible to compare these upgrades with a full rolling road re-map which measures and adjusts hundreds of signals and data files within the ECU. We advise that these generic files and unsupported devices for sale on the internet should be taken at face value and avoided. Viezu have seen many customers come to them after a bad experience! We will be happy to discuss your requirements and offer the very best advice as a Viezu agent.
